Rich Church opened Church's Speed Shop in 1976 in a little store on Rt 420 in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania. He had a dream of selling speed parts to friends and customers that he drag raced with and could help support his hobby. He had help from his brothers Ray and Roger. In 1977 Rich decided to move his shop to a larger building on 601 Chester Pike in Ridley Park. Ray was running the store and going to college in his spare time.

In 1979 Ray left to start a career at Verizon and we moved again to 700 Chester Pike in Ridley Park. Brother Bob came into the business and we decided to take on auto parts along with the speed parts. Roger and Bob ran the store. Business took off and we were selling more auto parts as the gas crisis hit us. Bob's history of being in the parts business really helped us grow.

In 1982 Rich decided to buy Eddie's Car Wash in Ridley Park and this would be our next home. We added more auto parts lines, a Machine Shop and delivery cars. Business was great.

In April of 1990 we lost our brother Rich in a tragic drag racing accident. We decided as a family to continue in business. Roger and Bob took ownership and as the years went on, we stayed busy.

In 2004 we added our second location in Springfield, Pennsylvania on Rt 420. We continued to service the auto repair shops in Delaware County along with the backyard mechanic and retail trade. Roger and Bob were not done expanding. In 2008 they purchased Macar Auto Supply in Drexel Hill, another family business that we wanted to continue to keep open and service Delaware county.

In September 2019 Bob retired from his 50-year career in the auto parts business. Mike Church, Roger's son, joined the business to help expand it and keep things running successfully.

Church's was outgrowing their home office in Ridley Park, so they sold the building they were in for 28 years and moved in February 2020 into the new location at 515 E. Chester Pike in Ridley Park. The new building is more than 14,000 square feet of retail and wholesale parts so we can service our customers well.

Today we have three locations, more than 70 employees and 30 plus delivery vehicles. We offer online ordering, FREE delivery and a warranty on our parts. Our counter professionals average more than 25 years of experience.
